What is Feed Our Neighbors?
Contrary to popular belief, hunger is a common issue that is happening right here in our own communities. As a survivor of food insecurity, I know that it does not discriminate against race, socioeconomic status, degrees acquired, etc. This has propelled my mission to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, income, or educational level, has access to quality food, every single day.
After receiving the Lyrical Activist Award from the North Texas Food Bank in 2016, I was inspired to continue my advocacy towards a hunger-free Texas. I interned at a food bank in 2017, became a SNAP sign-up aid in 2018, and would eventually partner with Feeding Texas in 2019. All of these things have further inspired me to spread the message of Feed Our Neighbors. My goal is simple: |
EducateWith my program, I educate others on how to combat hunger in their communities.
|
AdvocateI advocate for more accessible nutrition and improved food policies at the legislative level.
|
NavigateI help food insecure individuals navigate resources available to them during their time of need.
